Superintendent

The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Micah Williams as the next Superintendent of the South Vermillion Community School Corporation on Tuesday, February 18th. The appointment is effective July 1, 2025.

Williams is currently the Assistant Superintendent. He began his career with South Vermillion in 2011 as a middle school math and science teacher. He was an administrator at South Vermillion Middle School from 2015 to 2022 when he moved to the Superintendent's Office as the Director of Finance and Facilities. His title changed to Assistant Superintendent in August of 2023. He and his wife, Erin, look forward to continuing to be a part of the corporation and community for years to come.

Williams is replacing Mr. Dave Chapman, who has been the Superintendent at South Vermillion since 2008. Chapman's career in public education spans 43 years in Indiana and Illinois. He served as a teacher and coach, and as a middle school and high school administrator before becoming the Superintendent at South Vermillion. He will serve as the Superintendent Transition Advisor through December 31, 2025. After this transition period, Chapman and his wife, Lorie, look forward to spending more time with their kids and grandchildren.
