SVMS Dance Team Wins State

South Vermillion Middle School Shines at IHSDTA State Championship!

On March 3rd, South Vermillion Middle School’s talented dance team, under the guidance of Coaches Cassie Mobley and Hannah Helt, showcased their exceptional skills at the IHSDTA State Championship in Indianapolis. We are thrilled to announce that they emerged as State Champions, clinching 1st place in JHA Jazz and securing 2nd place in JHA Pom, all while maintaining an undefeated season!

Coach Cassie expressed her immense pride in the team, stating, “We are so unbelievably proud of this team and the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the entire season. It has taken true strength, grit, and determination. We faced some tough competition, but the girls rose to the challenge every time they stepped onto the floor. They overcame significant obstacles, from illness to injuries, while continually demonstrating remarkable work ethic and perseverance.”

The girls have represented South Vermillion with excellence, both on and off the floor, embodying the spirit of dedicated students and athletes who set a positive example for those around them. Coach Cassie added, “We had a vision for our routines this season, and our dancers truly brought them to life with stellar performances that moved both our spectators and judges alike.”

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our corporation, school administrators, Athletic Director Matt Sebastian, bus driver Pam Kashon, Vicki West, the high school team, our dance families, and the entire community for their unwavering support throughout the season.

Let’s celebrate this incredible achievement together! GO SV!!!
