20-21 COVID-19 Re-Entry Guidance
Students will begin entering the classrooms at 7:35.
Early students (car riders) will sit in the hall outside of the classrooms with masks/socially distancing (Morning Supervisors will monitor).
Breakfast will be handed out when students enter the building and eat in the room.
Masks and sanitizer will be available at entrances.
POSSIBILITY→ Have two points of entry (two food stations) to cut down on congestion at front entry.
Front→ K, 3, 4, 5
Lower Hall Entrance→ 1, 2
Students’ belongings will be placed on the backs of their chairs (no cubbies used unless needed for that kiddo who cannot leave items alone).
Specials
Students will wear their masks while transitioning.
Students need to face same direction/socially distanced (art, music, library)-do not share materials
PE -socially distance and do not share materials
Students, K-5, may take masks off when sitting, socially distanced
Specials have been moved to allow teachers time in between classes to wipe all surfaces and clean materials
Library-> book circulation can happen. When books are returned, leave them on a cart for 24 hours (Lysol if have any) and then can be shelved.
RtI→ will take place like usual-students will transition, wear masks while moving, wipe down desks/materials in between groups-no sharing of materials
Lunches
Will take place in the classrooms.
Lunches will be delivered to the rooms by the cafeteria staff.
Students will eat at their desk.
Trash receptacles will be placed in the hall.
Kim C will be there to assist with trash.
Students will mask up to throw trash away and return to their seat.
Milk will need to be dumped down sink drain (this will need to be taught)
Recess→ There will now be an AM recess and a PM recess after lunch-(covered by homeroom teachers).
The schedule is arranged so only one grade level is outside at a time.
Students will not need to wear masks outside if they are socially distanced.
Students will sanitize BEFORE and AFTER recess-this will allow the kiddos to be able to use the equipment without having to sanitize in between classes.
Restrooms-students will still be able to go, but must wear their mask.
School Supplies → CANNOT BE SHARED!
Dismissal→
Car riders will be dismissed first at 2:30→ Anne Schrader and the daily Special Teacher will be at the front entrance to supervise and monitor social distancing. (If this space is not large enough, we could line along the main hall or in the gym.)
Bus riders will be dismissed by bus number to keep traffic down in the hall. Keep all other students at their seats while waiting for their dismissal.
Miscellaneous
Visitors- only allowed for emergencies or case conferences. Parents dropping things off will be greeted at the door.
Masks-will be worn by staff and students when social distancing is not maintained, during transition times, or not sitting in the classroom setting. Teachers can remove his/her mask if 6’ social distancing is able to be maintained.
Desks/Tables-must remain in traditional rows with the students’ chairs as close to 6’ apart as possible.
Desks/Tables-must be sanitized in between classes-teacher will spray the desk with disinfectant solution that Kim is providing and students can wipe with a paper towel.
Hallway traffic-must have a directional flow. All students will walk on the right side of the hall. Directional arrows will be placed on the floor. Masks will be worn, so distancing is not as important, but could not hurt. However, I understand that you do not want your line a mile long either.
Belongings-Students will be able to bring a backpack and lunch.
Students will be provided with a lanyard to place the mask on when not being used.
Water fountains are closed and will be covered with plastic, but there are refill stations in the building.
Students will be provided with a reusable water bottle (provided by your counselors and the LLC fund) and they will be filled by an adult at the water filling stations or classroom sinks. These will be brought home each night to be sanitized and refilled with water.
No sharing of supplies- please place your student’s name on each item.
Restrooms-masks required and only 1-2 students in the restroom at a time. The teacher needs to be carefully watching and teaching a routine for this to ensure distancing.
Frequent hand washing should be encouraged. Students are to wash his/her hands immediately upon entering the classroom each morning.
Each teacher will be supplied with soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, and sanitizing spray.
Hand sanitizing stations will be placed in all of the hallways and at the front entrance.
Meals-will be delivered to each classroom. Students will have a choice of a hot meal or sun butter and jelly.
There will be no attendance incentives.
