Students will be allowed to wear pajamas and bring in their favorite stuffed animal for $1. Spring picture day is next Tuesday, April 2nd. These pictures are optional. Order forms were sent home yesterday or will come home today. The book fair will take place next week. Shopping days are Wednesday and Friday. Family shopping night is Friday, April 5th from 5-6:30. Kindergarten round-up is Thursday, April 4th at Van Duyn from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. If you or anyone you know has a student attending kindergarten in the fall, please be sure to attend. You’ll bring your child along with his/her birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residence. Monday, April 8th is an eLearning day so that students will be able to witness the total solar eclipse from home. Starting tomorrow, (Monday, March 25th), anyone coming into Van Duyn for any reason (visit, drop students off, pick students up, etc.), will need to bring a state-issued ID (driver's license or ID card). There is an iPad kiosk on the SRO desk where visitors will scan the bar code on the back of their ID and then answer a few questions regarding the reason for their visit. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we navigate this new check-in process.

If you were in our building last week, you had the chance to use our new sign-in/sign-out system. We will no longer be using paper forms. There is an iPad kiosk on the SRO desk. Starting Monday, March 25th, anyone coming into the building for any reason (visit, drop students off, pick students up, etc.), will need to bring a state-issued ID (driver's license or ID card). Visitors will scan the bar code on the back of their ID and then answer a few questions regarding the reason for their visit. If you come in without your ID, you will be instructed to see the SRO or the front office to be checked in. Upon your first visit, it will prompt you to take a photo. This will only happen upon your initial visit. Please share this information with any family members who may need to come into the building. Please be patient with us as this is new to us as well and we are learning right along with you.

Good afternoon! Per the CDC and Vermillion County Health Department, testing positive for COVID will no longer require a 5-day isolation. COVID will now be treated like all other respiratory viruses and return to school will now be based on symptoms and/or symptom improvement, along with being fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. *If you test positive for COVID, you should stay home for 24 hours after your symptoms start to improve and make sure you are fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication prior to returning to activities. Taking additional precautions for 5 days upon return, such as masking and distancing, should be considered but will not be required.
