The Clinton Gardens Nursing Home recently had a "Scarecrow Contest" and invited the 8th grade SVMS art students to participate. The students worked on their scarecrows over e-learning in September. They learned how to draw a scarecrow from Mrs. Spangler, and then the students created their own scarecrow for the contest using whatever medium they had available at home. The students' work was on display at the Clinton Gardens for several weeks in October for the residents and staff to enjoy. The residents and staff voted on their favorites and the following students are the winners of the "Scarecrow Contest": 1st place winners - Elaine Hammond and Sean Thomas, 2nd place winners - Melanie Kashon and Braxton Snodgrass, and 3rd place winners - Luke Wallace and Matthew Howard.
